Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West ~ Compendium of Their Malicious and Slanderous Web Pages

Since the disturbing information about Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West, in Lewistown, Montana ~ and their blantant falsification of Field Dog Stud Book (F.D.S.B.) registrations ~ was first published on these pages, the Taylors have changed and/or altered the content on a number of Setters West web pages which we had (and have) linked to here.
....
As stated at the time we originally published this information, screen shots were obtained of all the pertinent Setters West web pages as in light of Rick and Chris Taylor's previous and devious actions, we were strongly advised to preserve these pages in the original and abhorrently malicious form.
......
Since that time, we were also made aware of yet another page Rick and Chris Taylor still have in publication (as of this writing), a Google Blogspot: http://setterswestanswers.blogspot.com/
....
The content on this Google Blogspot varies somewhat from the original slanderous and malicious diatribes and manufactured documents which appeared on the original Setters West web pages. There are also more wholly-manufactured and forged documents there which have very little if any basis in actual facts or reality.
............
Screen shots of this Google Blogspot (under the purported "authorship" of Chris Taylor) have also been obtained, as well as a screen shot of the Google Blog search engine which clearly shows its existence there. These also have been obtained in the event the information as it appears there as of this writing is changed and/or altered by Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West ~ or moved to some "hidden pages" as they have done in the past, with no "public links" available to anyone but them (and whomever else they would choose to see them).
.
The pages below not only speak volumes about the devious and malicious character of Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West, but speak for themselves as well.
.
It is certainly not our wishes or intent to "keep track" of the various manipulations, manufactured documents, false charges and further slander concocted by Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West. We are still pursuing this matter through the proper channels, although the wheels of bureaucracy can be exceedingly slow.
.
In the meantime however, we have been encouraged to offer the screen shots here as a testament to the dubious and devious "character" of the Taylors ~ and as these pages can now easily be referred to in conjunction with the facts of the matter we have previously presented here ~ and to perhaps prevent more heartache on behalf of the sporting public, should anyone still consider dealing with Setters West.
.
Once again, the issue here is genetics and DNA, which Rick and Chris Taylor have been given ample opportunity to produce, however chose rather to turn to slander, malicious accusations and forged and wholly manufactured documents instead. It is apparent and pathetic that they finally, in their Google Blogspot, resort to using the false and misleading genetic "information" that they do ~ and is only a further indication of their gross incompetence as far as quality breeding matters are concerned.
....
And once again, the linking of the Setters West slanderous web pages here does not indicate either implied or direct consent in any manner by us for Rick and Chris Taylor's publication of these malicious falsehoods, self-serving accusations and fraudulent and/or forged documents on the Setters West web pages or in any other venue (or any communication of these falsehoods by them by any other manner) past, present or future.

Factual Timeline and Additional Proof of the Fraudulent F.D.S.B. Registration Scam of Timbers Sagaceous Blue by Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West

Chris Taylor, on March 18th, 1995, at my kennel in Sandy Ridge, Pennsylvania, holding her replacement pup, which the Taylors subsequently and knowingly falsely registered with the Field Dog Stud Book as a pup whelped at the Setters West kennel in Montana, with the name of Timbers Sagaceous Blue ("Sage") ~ click on date-stamped photo for larger version. It was a common practice at my kennel to take numerous photos of people who came to pick up their new puppies.
.

>

22 FEB 2010, PLEASE NOTE: The Taylors "conveniently" at some point ~ since this information was first published here ~ have replaced content on (and/or otherwise altered) their web pages so as to attempt to "hide" their disingenuous excuses, falsehoods and wholly manufactured creations in regard to the information presented here. However in light of their previous and devious actions, we managed to acquire screen shots of those pages in the original fraud-laden form when they were first published by Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West ~ and which will be presented once more here as soon as our images are loaded into a new photo server. Thank you for your patience and support during the recent "outage" by the server who hosted our images before.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
While other sad cases of fraudulent Field Dog Stud Book registrations by unscrupulous and unethical breeders are on record, it is doubtful any of these cases are more convoluted than the scam perpetrated by Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West in the case of Timbers Sagaceous Blue ("Sage").
.
Timbers Sagaceous Blue was a female English Setter whelped at my kennel in Sandy Ridge, Pennsylvania, and which I placed in Rick and Chris Taylor's care ~ and whom the Taylors subsequently claimed was whelped at their Setters West kennel in Lewistown, Montana, and maliciously endeavored to back up this manufactured falsehood with a fraudulent Field Dog Stud Book registration.
.
To best present the verifiable facts regarding this matter to the interested sporting public ~ and with official action which includes conclusive genetic testing already in progress ~ we have decided to use a timeline format here which we feel will impart an element of logic to this otherwise convoluted affair.
.
It should also be stated here that despite giving Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West ample time to take advantage of the opportunity to prove these events false by providing objective and true genetic testing (DNA) ~ and also inviting them to Pennsylvania (where this illicit affair took place) to resolve this matter in a court of law ~ they have not responded in any manner other than to publish a sheaf of false, forged and slanderous documents on the Setters West web page ~ these specific pages which are still present there but for which they have since removed any public links (NOTE on 22 FEB 2010: the Taylors have since changed the content on this web page, refer to thumbnails of screen shots below) however which can be readily accessed by clicking here.
.
These slander-ridden and forgery-filled web pages have changed only slightly in these past months with the curious disappearance of a letter which Rick and Chris Taylor "claimed" to have received from the Field Dog Stud Book ~ however of which we were notified and captured screen shots of on April 3rd, 2009 ~ and which can be accessed by clicking on the thumbnails below:
THE FACTUAL TIMELINE OF EVENTS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

.

PRELUDE:
..
....
After an article about my English Setters appeared in the April/May 1991 edition of "Gun Dog Magazine" (the full article which will appear here on the Fetters Setters pages at some point in the future), I was contacted by Rick and Chris Taylor of Lewistown, Montana, who inquired about purchasing one or more English Setters from me.

I subsequently sold them three English Setters, all out of outcrossed bloodlines: a male named Fetters Allegheny Buck and two females, Ryman's Allegheny Flame (who subsequently became one of their foundation females) and Ryman's Allegheny Sheba.

Again, all three of these English Setters were from outcrossed bloodlines (we breed and maintain both linebred and outcrossed bloodlines to this day).
....
The latter female, Ryman's Allegheny Sheba, was actually not bred or owned by me ~ but was the off-spring of a breeding by a male English Setter owned by my very good friend and long-time hunting companion, Professor Richard Kevorkian of Richmond, Virginia. I had agreed to sell this pup on Richard's behalf as Richard's personal dog, the stud, was an English Setter which Richard had obtained from me, named Ryman's Hye Moush.
.
The Taylors were fully aware of this fact and also that I had no knowledge of the Dam from this breeding. At the time, I was not doing OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals: official web site of OFA found by clicking here) tests on my pups as throughout five generations of my family's breeding we had never once experienced a case of hip or elbow dysplasia.
.
The Taylors also were aware of this and also that I had no problem with any OFA testing which any of my clients wished to have performed on their own behalf. .

As it turned out however, this particular English Setter, Ryman's Allegheny Sheba ("Sheba"), tested positive on one side for mild hip dysplasia.
.
Being an honorable person ~ and even though the dog was not mine personally ~ I agreed to replace Ryman's Allegheny Sheba with a pup from one of my own linebred breedings providing they returned Ryman's Allegheny Sheba to me (and it should be noted here that still, to this day, no English Setters ever bred personally by me or by my family for five generations have ever shown any signs of dysplasia of any type).
.
The Taylors initially agreed to this replacement arrangement. However they later decided they did not want to return Ryman's Allegheny Sheba to me, and began to demand that I still give them a replacement pup.

I agreed to do so providing that Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West would guarantee that Ryman's Allegheny Sheba would never be bred and that she would be spayed (and that the Taylors would provide both my veterinarian and me with proof of this spaying) ~ and also that my name would be on the Field Dog Stud Book registration as a co-owner of the replacement pup since they did not want to return Ryman's Allegheny Sheba to me and for other reasons discussed in more detail below.

Now I am sure no one would fault that arrangement nor find anything "devious" about it (as Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West have recently alleged). In fact, to any honest person, this would have been a more than fair and satisfactory arrangement towards a resolution.
...
In the meantime however, I also received at least two letters from Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West wanting to return an English Setter to me by the name of Ryman's Nutmeg Sprint ~ an English Setter for which I was NOT the breeder and had in fact, NEVER OWNED.
.....
So it certainly was not the case that Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West were not willing to return a dog to my kennel ~ but rather that they wished to keep a female English Setter found to have mild hip dysplasia on one side and return to me instead a perfectly healthy English Setter even though I was NOT the breeder of this latter dog and had NEVER OWNED this dog.

Certainly a number of red flags were waving at this point, however as I already had become involved with the Taylors, I only wished to do the honorable thing and extract myself from the situation at the time as soon as possible. This is the point, needless to say, when matters began to become very strange and convoluted ...

And this is where the timeline of even stranger events begins:
.

February 6th, 1995

Second letter written by Rick and
Chris Taylor and mailed to me

...
I received a second letter from Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West (thumbnail links to this letter below) informing me once again that:
>>
>>
<:>>>>>>>Ryman's Allegheny Sheba had been found to have mild hip dysplasia on one side and that this condition had not been a result of injury (that if it had been caused by an injury, they would have still bred her) ~ that they had had plans to breed her, however "simply (could not) do this as a result of the genetic problem."
.
<:>>>>>>>They felt I should still honor my agreement to provide them with a replacement pup, which I had no qualms about and had already agreed to do, providing they returned Ryman's Allegheny Sheba to me.

<:>>>>>>>They had enclosed a copy of Travel Reservations and an Itinerary made on January 13th, 1995, through a Montana travel agency which showed that Chris Taylor would be arriving on March 17th, 1995, to pick up a replacement pup from one of my personal breedings (image of this document accessible by clicking on thumbnail below).

<:>>>>>>>They were planning to return Ryman's Nutmeg Sprint ("Meg") to me (even though I was NOT the breeder of this dog and NEVER OWNED this dog ~ as previously published information on this page proves conclusively) ~ because they were "not satisfied with her hunting abilities" (again, interestingly enough, they did subsequently breed this female a number of times). However the fact that they were repeatedly told that they should have been contacting the actual owner or breeder of this dog seemed to be beyond their comprehension at this point.

<:>>>>>>>While they stated they were not satisfied with Ryman's Allegheny Flame's hunting abilities either (an outcrossed female they had acquired from me), they also stated that they were going to keep her anyway and breed her (and breed her they did, time after time after time after time ... indeed, OFA web site records show Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West bred a number of their females every six months at times, an act of incompetency at best and what some would even consider as abuse).
.
<:>>>>>>>Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West (last part of this specific letter from them which appears below) were "interested in artificial insemination" with semen from my kennels, despite their rather disparaging remarks regarding English Setters they had already acquired from me. It should also be noted that at this time they were also in possession ~ and had had possession for sometime ~ of Fetters Allegheny Buck, an outcrossed male I had sold to them (and which they admitted and OFA records show that they had bred at six months of age). The Taylors' high opinion of Fetters Allegheny Buck as a stud dog and hunter can still be found on web pages they maintain which can be found on the older version of the Setters West web page, found by clicking here and also (NOTE on 22 FEB 2010: the content on this latter web page has since been altered by Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West) at the top of the newest version of their web page, found by clicking here. We have also retained screen shots of these pages in the event they are deleted or revised in any way.
.
<:>>>>>>>Furthermore, as stated in the letter (links below) on February 6th, 1995, Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West had already consulted with their veterinarian, Dr. Dick Rath in Montana, about the artificial insemination procedure and also in this letter offered me options as to making a deal with them concerning this matter. This hardly supports their asinine assertions that it was me who sought to go into business with them or to gain some strange sort of control in their kennel operations. As stated above, it was only my intentions and wishes at this point to do the honorable thing (without being grossly taken advantage of myself) and to extract myself from any further dealings with Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West as soon as possible.

Chris Taylor's Travel Reservations and Itinerary
below, (which was enclosed with the letter above)
specifying her arrival on March 17th, 1995,
to pick up the replacement pup as agreed upon
...

A significant fact which should be noted about the Itinerary and Travel Reservations for Chris Taylor to come to my kennel in Pennsylvania on March 17th, 1995, is that these arrangements were booked on January 13th, 1995 ~ the exact date that the dog now known as Timbers Sageceous Blue ("Sage") was whelped at my kennel in Pennsylvania.
.
I personally had called the Taylors earlier that day (on January 13th, 1995) to inform them that the pups were on the ground ~ and the same date, January 13th, 1995, is also the exact date of birth for Timbers Sageceous Blue ("Sage") that Rick and Chris Taylor published on their Setters West web page (which they then "revised" to January 20th, 1995, shortly after my attorney contacted them approximately five years ago).
.

Setters West web page before the birth date of
this dog and other information was revised or deleted.

web page, which has a birthdate noted
for Sage a week later than the original
web page (above) and which was changed
shortly after my attorney contacted them
regarding this matter.
(NOTE on 25 FEB 2010:
Since this information
was first published here, the Taylors
have made changes to their "old" web
pages where this information appears,
most notably the Font Style.)

.........

Again, the revised webpage with a different birth date (moved to a week later) for Timbers Sagaceous Blue was published shortly after the Taylors were contacted by my attorney approximately five years ago.
The "newer version" of the page (which is actually on the older Setters West web site) is still on-line as of this date and can be found by clicking here. (NOTE on 25 FEB 2010: The Taylors have altered the "old" Setters West web pages since these pieces here were first published, most notably they have changed the Font Style on the page with the altered birthdate of Timbers Sagaceous Blue aka "Sage".) .

.

Also, when comparing the two pages, one will note that all mention of Ryman's Nutmeg Sprint ("Meg") has disappeared as well as any reference to me personally.

.

.
March 3rd, 1995
.
Letter and spaying receipt for Ryman's Allegheny Sheba
mailed to me by Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West

,
As stated previously here, even though I wished to act in an honorable manner towards Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West regarding a replacement pup for Ryman's Allegheny Sheba and also to extract myself from further involvement with them as quickly as possible, I also did not wish to be taken advantage of by them.
.....
As seen in factual and true documents already presented here, by this time Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West were exhibiting an erratic pattern of behavior at best.
.
In good faith however, I had offered them a replacement pup from my own linebred lines for Ryman's Allegheny Sheba whom they had claimed was un-fit for breeding and for which they provided OFA documentation ~ which can be accessed by clicking on the thumbnail below:
.

Click on the thumbnail below for the full version of

the OFA document for Ryman's Allegheny Sheba

showing mild hip dysplasia on one side

and dated February 1st, 1995
.....

The condition for the replacement pup from my own private linebred bloodlines was that Ryman's Allegheny Sheba would be returned to me so that I could have her spayed and keep her as a companion and hunting dog.
.
It was not long afterwards however that Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West began to demand of me that they not only wanted to be provided with a replacement pup but that they also wished to keep Ryman's Allegheny Sheba in Montana with them.
.
Wanting to be fair with them ~ but also not wishing to be unfairly taken advantage of myself ~ I finally agreed to their proposed arrangement with the following conditions (as I would have much preferred having Ryman's Allegheny Sheba returned to me and to have given the Taylors a replacement pup which I still believed was the fairest method of resolution for all concerned):
.
<:>>>>>>>That they have Ryman's Allegheny Sheba spayed and that they provide proof from their veternarian to my veternarian and me that she had indeed been spayed ~
.
<:>>>>>>>And also that I would be listed as a co-owner on the Field Dog Stud Book Registration of the replacement pup as this pup would be from my personal linebred bloodlines which I had been breeding for quite some time with exceptional results ~ and also because at that point I had learned about enough of Rick and Chris Taylor's incompetency as regards breeding practices by certain actions of theirs such as breeding Fetters Allegheny Buck at six months of age.
.
This was absolutely not (as the Taylor's have falsely and so maliciously alleged) an attempt to gain control over their kennel operations, but simply an agreement that I would have to sign off as co-owner of the replacement pup for any breeding purposes as this particular pup was from my linebred bloodlines.
.
Once again, they had already exhibited incompetency in the act of breeding a male, Fetters Allegheny Buck, at six months of age, and other behavior which showed to me they had a severe lack of knowledge of consistently breeding a quality gun dog.
.
So this singular instance of a "co-owner" arrangement indeed involved NOT the Setters West kennel, but rather the status of one dog from my exceptional linebred bloodlines ~ which I was supplying as a replacement while allowing them to keep the original dog.
.
After some period of time, Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West sent to me a "receipt" for the spaying of Ryman's Allegheny Sheba from their stated veterinarian of record, Dr. Dick Rath of Montana, with an accompanying note of explanation and a reaffirmation that Chris Taylor would be flying in to my kennel at Sandy Ridge, Pennsylvania, on March 17th, 1995, to retrieve the replacement pup which had been whelped on January 13th, 1995, at my kennel in Sandy Ridge

.

.....
The thumbnails below can be clicked on for copies
of the envelope in which the above documents
were mailed to and received by me from
Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West
......
....
.......
As has been demonstrated and shown above in the letter sent to me from Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West, while they had had initial intentions of breeding Ryman's Allegheny Sheba at the time of acquiring her from me, they stated that they were not going to do so after the OFA report and initial findings of mild hip dysplasia on one side.
.
Also as stated before, while the Sire of Ryman's Allegheny Sheba was a male whelped at my kennel and owned by a good friend of mine and long-time hunting companion, Professor Richard Kevorkian of Richmond, Virginia, I had as a favor to him taken on the placement of pups from that particular litter which had resulted from Richard's dog, Ryman's Hye Moush, being mated with a female of another friend of his ~ this particular female/Dam of which I possessed little knowledge and a situation of which the Taylors were fully aware.
.
As can be demonstrated in the document below, taken directly from the Field Dog Stud Book records of registrations, there were a number of pups from this litter which I placed as a favor to Richard, the owner of the Sire of this particular litter ~ this particular publication containing the registration information for Rick and Chris Taylor's Ryman's Allegheny Sheba as well (as shown).
.

,,,,,,,,
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
.
March 17th to 18th, 1995
...
Chris Taylor flies to my kennel to pick up
the replacement pup which had been whelped at
my kennel in Pennsylania on January 13th, 1995
.
As planned and in keeping with the original Travel Reservations (documentary proof above) made for Chris Taylor with a Montana travel agency on January 13th, 1995 (the date my litter was whelped at my kennel), Chris Taylor flew into Pennsylvania on March 17th, 1995, and came to my kennel in Sandy Ridge, Pennsylvania, to pick up the Taylors' replacement pup, per our agreement.
.
Subsequently, after receiving their replacement pup (and a number of date-stamped photos were taken at my kennel of Chris Taylor with this particular pup on March 18th, 1995, as is a common practice with any new owners at my kennel), Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West decided on a name for the replacement pup to be registered under with the Field Dog Stud Book with me as co-owner of the dog.
.
However the final name Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West agreed upon was only after their alternating between several different names (all meticulously recorded in my Breeders Book), those names being "Fetters Blue Haze" and "Fetters Blue Sage" but finally deciding on "Fetters Allegheny Haze."
.
As we also had finally agreed, the Taylors kept Ryman's Allegheny Sheba with them in Montana (having her spayed and sending both my veterinarian and me a signed receipt from their veterinarian of record, Dr. Dick Rath of Montana) and the replacement pup was registered with the Field Dog Stud Book with me as co-owner, copy of the Field Dog Stud Book with the whelping date of January 13th, 1995 ~ accessible by clicking on the thumbnail below:
.
Click on thumbnail below for copy of Field Dog Stud Book
registration of Fetters Allegheny Haze showing me as co-owner
with Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West ~ and whom they later
fraudulently registered themselves with Field Dog Stud Book as
Timbers Sagceous Blue, claiming she was instead whelped
at the Setters West Kennel in Montana
...
.
Now, anyone who knows anything significant about English Setters knows that in addition to conclusive genetic testing ~ which we indeed possess in regards to this matter ~ that markings on English Setters, the spots and patches, etc., are as unique as human fingerprints. No two are alike. And markings even on a pup easily can be used to determine the actual identity of an adult English Setter.
.
Click on thumbnail below for
full-size comparison montage of
distinctive English Setter markings
.
.
However distinctive markings are not used alone in today's world to identify an unethical breeder's fraudulent registration activities ~ and with the advent of genetic testing, results are conclusive as well as either absolving or damning depending on the particular breeder's innocence or guilt.
.
Just as disturbing perhaps is the methodology of the Taylor's on-going pattern of deception ~ in not only becoming delinquent and deceptive in regards to my initial agreement with them for a fair resolution of this issue in which I had acted honorably towards them in seeking to find a satisfactory arrangement for both them and me ~ but also in their subsequently revising web pages and birth dates to suit their own needs (not to mention the avalanche of forged and fraudulent documents and false and malicious accusations which they have more recently manufactured).
.
But finally and most disturbing of all is their absurd claim that Ryman's Allegheny Sheba had given birth to Fetters Allegheny Haze, now falsely registered with the Field Dog Stud Book under the name of Timbers Sagaceous Blue ~ and also falsely claimed that she had been whelped at Rick and Chris Taylor's Setters West kennel in Montana.
.
It is yet a further demontsration of the severe lack of knowledge and sheer incompetency of Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West that they could in anyway imagine they could "allegedly" breed two outcrossed bloodlines and produce a perfect linebred quality pup ~ breedings of this type do not "just happen" overnight, indeed it takes a few generations of selective breeding to set the genetics to produce type ~ and to have commited such a malicious and fraudulent act with no apparent thought to the eventual consequences.
.
on and around
January 13th and January 20th, 1995
.
...
While the documentation above also shows conclusively that Dr. Dick Rath of Montana was their veterinarian of record in 1995, Rick and Chris Taylor in the last few months' time have managed to produce a "document" from another veterinarian at an entirely different clinic ~ the latter veterinarian who appears to claim he personally "witnessed" the "whelping" of Timbers Sagaceous Blue out of Ryman's Allegheny Sheba ~ and also claims to have been the Taylors' "official veterinarian."
.
A screen shot of this document is available by clicking on the thumbnail below or by accessing a "hidden part" of the Taylors' Setters West web page by by clicking here and viewing the lower right document there (NOTE on 25FEB2010: This Setters West web page has been changed and/or altered since this information was first published here):
NOTE on 25 FEB 2o10: As noted earlier and severeal times here, since the information on this matter was first published here, Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West have changed content on and/or otherwise altered their web pages, including the version of their "original" web page, still on-line as of this date. In light of their original actions in changing the whelping date of Timbers Sagaceous Blue ("Sage"), etc., we obtained screen shots of subsequent pages they published on-line ~ however as this "changing and altering" process is an on-going endeavor in the Taylor household, we feel these screen shots and the notification of this activity by the Taylors has been suffuciently covered and documented, regardless of what changes and/or alterations they Taylors may undertake in the future.
.
The document above is the one Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West also claim on those same now "hidden web pages" to have submitted to the Field Dog Stud Book as "proof" of their "innocence" in regards to falsifying the registration and bloodlines of Timbers Sagaceous Blue ("Sage") ~ even though it is from an entirely different veterinarian and clinic than their stated and documented veterinarian of record in 1995 as demonstrated in documents above.
.
However aside from their manufactured and forged documents and false and malicious accusations and actions, a good deal more disturbing is Rick and Chris Taylor's belief in the guile and absolute stupidity of those to whom they proclaim their "innocence" in any such nefarious and fraudulent deeds.
.
And which also raises at least several extremely disturbing scenarios which must be considered by those whom Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West would want to believe their strange and twisted tale:
.
<:>>>>>>That Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West would have you believe that at the time Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West wrote and mailed to me the letter dated February 6th, 1995, that Ryman's Allegheny Sheba ~ who was discussed in that letter as the subject of an OFA report dated February 1st, 1995 ~ had already (by their later accounts) whelped pups which were on the former date, the date the letter was mailed to me, three to four weeks old ~ depending on which version of the bith date (January 13th, 1995 or January 20th, 1995) Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West were/are using on any particular day.
.
<:>>>>>>That Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West would have you believe that they had knowingly bred Ryman's Allegheny Sheba even after receiving a preliminary OFA report showing she had a mild case of hip dysplasia on one side, and while still proclaiming in their letter to me dated February 6th, 1995, that Ryman's Allegeny Sheba could not be used for breeding due to the discovery of this condition ~ and had also discussed in detail this condition with the OFA and their veterinarian.
.
<:>>>>>>That with the OFA radiology requirements, and taking the date of the above documented OFA report into account, that they had had Ryman's Allegheny Sheba most probably x-rayed while she was (again, according to the Taylors' later accounts) pregnant with a litter or while she was nursing newly whelped pups ~ and that they had found a veternarian unethical enough to provide this service ~ perhaps Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West not being aware at the time they were concocting this absurd scenario that any veternarian would risk serious consequences up to and including the loss of his license and would not perform such a procedure under such circumstances as these.
.
<:>>>>>>>That Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West had Ryman's Allegheny Sheba spayed by their veterinarian of record, Dr. Dick Rath, while her "claimed litter" was approximately five weeks old ~ if you go by the Taylors' January 20th, 1995, version of the birth date of these pups ~ or six weeks old ~ if you go by the Taylors' January 13th, 1995, version of the birth date of these pups. However nonetheless, both crucial times when a mother would be nursing her pups and also a time when no one but a completely insane veterinarian would ever spay a female dog, or risk consequences up to and including the loss of his license. And again, another procedure which no veterinarian would ever perform under such circumstances.
..
<:>>>>>>And that Chris Taylor had documented Travel Reservations made through a Montana travel agency on January 13th, 1995 (the date of the whelping at my kennel ~ and not the date of any whelping at the Setters West kennel in Montana) to pick up their replacement pup on March 17th, 1995 (and to fly back with the pup to Montana the next day) and have time-stamped photos taken of her and the replacement pup on March 18th, 1995, at my kennel in Sandy Ridge, Pennsylvania ~ and that the Taylors would have you believe that there were allegedly two different pups, one born at my kennel on January 13th, 1995, and yet another pup born at the Setters West Kennel in Montana on January 13th, 1995 or January 20th, 1995 (whichever birth date the Taylors are trying to market that day) who happened to have the same markings and color as shown once again in the comparison montage which can be accessed by clicking on the thumbnail below:
.
.....
We had many other items of interest to share on these pages with you (and will be doing so) ~ and certainly had not wanted to go further into this matter on these pages at this time ~ and into such detail ~ however after consistent and numerous contacts from our friends and clients and the sporting public, we were urged and encouraged to place more of the facts of the matter here for public veiwing so that more of the public would be fully aware of the truly devious and malicious nature of Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West ~ and the consequences which will most certainly occur as a result of their fraudulent actions.
.
In that the official process ~ with our conclusive genetic testings which we already possess ~ must go through the layers of bureacracy before being finally resolved, we have been repeatedly urged and encouraged to present more factual and documented information here so as to perhaps prevent any further consequences of dealing with Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West than have already occurred ~ and to perhaps save additonal people from the final consequences which will yet most certainly occur due to the Taylors blatent and knowing falsification of Field Dog Stud Book registrations.
.
No matter how many malicious accusations and false and forged documents Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West manage to produce, publish and distribute, they cannot and will not ever be able to provide the most crucial element of this matter ~ conclusive genetic testing which shows they managed to produce a pup with linebred bloodlines from two parents who were both from outcrossed bloodlines.
.
It is a sad situation as we know there are those out there who trusted Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West, people who bought into the Taylors fraudulent bloodlines ~ and whom will inevitably suffer the consequences which will indeed occur ~ people who bought English Setters from Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West and who perhaps even subsequently bred those dogs on their own and sold a litter of pups here and there.
.
We only hope that when the consequences which will most certainly occur, do occur ~ that when innocent owners of English Setters once and twice-removed and more degrees removed from the falsified breedings of Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West ~ find they are suffering the consequences from this fraudulent registration perpetrated by Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West for the sake of pure greed, that they will not turn on another innocent individual, but instead will remember where these malicious acts originated and act accordingly.
.
As stated several times elsewhere on this page, most breeders are honest and hard-working people who keep meticulous records and breed more for the love of the breed than for any monetary gain and/or greed.
.
While the knowingly fraudulent and greed-driven acts committed by Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West are indeed reprehensible, these acts certainly should not reflect on the breeding community as a whole.
.
Although genetic testing is never a bad idea ~ and in fact, is recommended, upon the purchase of a new pup ~ it takes only one unethical breeder to adversely affect an inordinate number of people and their dogs ~ and in the process, upset the genetic balance which the Field Dog Stud Book and other organizational dog breeding associations such as the AKC ~ as well as good and ethical breeders ~ attempt to ward off through honest and factual registrations.
Setting the Record Straight about Setters West's Ryman's Nutmeg Sprint ("Meg")
Official actions regarding the fraudulent practices of Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West and their blatant forgeries and falsifications of Field Dog Stud Book registrations are in process.
However sadly, there is more to be said concerning the deceitful behavior and unethical practices of Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West ~ than just their reprehensible forgeries and falsifications of official F.D.S.B. registration records, as serious as those particular actions remain.
Before other proof is offered here concerning other horrendously deceitful and malicious acts committed by Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West against not only me ~ but the general English Setter-loving sporting public ~ I feel the matter of Ryman's Nutmeg Sprint ("Meg") should be set straight here once and for all ~ and also serve to demonstrate yet another instance of the obviously incompetent and maliciously devious natures of Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West.
First, despite Rick and Chris Taylor's bizarre and purely malicious accusations against me ~ specifically concerning this particular English Setter: Ryman's Nutmeg Sprint ("Meg") ~ it should be stated here conclusively and absolutely that I was NOT the breeder of this dog and also that this dog was NEVER owned by me ~ despite Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West's repeated assertions.
Below, one will find irrefutable and conclusive proof that once again, Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West have managed to manufacture absolutely false accusations out of thin air ~ indeed have long ago embarked on a consistent path of fraudulent behavior ~ and whose erratic behavior seems at times to border on the clinically delusional.
In malicious, forged and falsified documents and allegations on the Setters West web pages which were completely manufactured by Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West earlier this year in a futile attempt to defame and denigrate me, they mentioned Ryman's Nutmeg Sprint ("Meg") in connection with me at least twice.
Once in a forged letter which they claim was written and signed by me and in which (they laughably claim) I wanted to enter into some sort of business arrangement with them (see more on this in earlier posts below), found by clicking here (NOTE on 25FEB2010: The Taylors have changed and/or altered the content on a number of their web pages since this informartion was presented here, however due to their previous and devious actions regarding the facts presented here, we obtained screen shots of all of the relevant Setters West web pages so they cound continue to be presented here) (or to see a full-sized version without the Taylors' "self-enlargement" feature, click on the thumbnail below ~ yellow highlights placed by us):
,,,,
..
And again in their very own words on their slander-ridden web pages ~ which they still maintain ~ however for which (for some very strange reason) they once again do not provide any public links to ~ which can be found by clicking here (NOTE on 25FEB2010: Again, the Taylors have changed and/or altered the content on a number of their web pages since this information was first presented here, however screen shots of the relevant pages have been obtained and are presented here) (or to see a full-sized version without the Taylors' "self-enlargement" feature, click on the thumbnail below ~ yellow highlights placed by us):
..
.....
In this last "essay" by Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West, they accuse me of attempting to gain and/or retain control of two English Setters in an attempt to have some sort of "control" in their kennel operations. This assertion by the Taylors is patently false. One of the dogs the Taylors name is Ryman's Nutmeg Sprint ("Meg") ~ an English Setter which I was NOT the breeder of and also NEVER OWNED. .
So unless I would have engaged in some sort of deceptive practice ~ such as the Taylors have knowingly engaged in on at least one occasion (in regards to Timbers Sageceous Blue) ~ it would have been quite impossible for me to have "held up" or even "expedited" registration papers or transfer of ownership for a dog whom was not bred by me and indeed never owned by me. .
Strangely enough, Ryman's Nutmeg Sprint ("Meg") became an issue raised by Rick and Chris Taylor of Setter's West in the mid-1990s when I received at least two letters from them telling me they were going to return Ryman's Nutmeg Sprint ("Meg") to me for a full refund as they did not like her hunting abilities ~ despite the fact that I was not the breeder of Ryman's Nutmeg Sprint ("Meg") and that she was not ever owned by me!
I thought at first this was some sort of sick (and very bad) joke (a link to one of these letters from Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West will appear below). However above and beyond the fact that I never owned Ryman's Nutmeg Sprint ("Meg") and was not the breeder of this dog ~ and despite Rick and Chris Taylor's allegation that she was not a good hunter ~ they did indeed keep and use this dog in their breeding program.
.
Soon after I received the first letter from Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West informing me that they were planning to return Ryman's Nutmeg Sprint ("Meg") to ME and expected ME to give them a full refund ~ even though I was NOT the breeder of this dog and NEVER OWNED this dog ~ I called the Taylors and informed them that if they had a problem with that particular dog, that they should contact the owner or breeder from whom they had in fact acquired the dog!
Despite making that initial call to Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West, I received at least one more letter from them (click on thumbnails below for photos of the two-page letter from Rick and Chris Taylor and the envelope in which it was sent) informing me again that they were planning to return Ryman's Nutmeg Sprint ("Meg") to me, even though I felt I had made it very clear to them that I was not the breeder or owner of the dog at any time, that they should contact and/or return the dog to the ACTUAL breeder or the owner of record!
..........
We feel it may also be of interest regarding the above letter that even though Rick and Chris Taylor made disparaging comments about two females they had acquired, that they used these dogs as the basis of their foundation breeding for Setters West.
.
And on a web page for their Setters West kennel as late as five years ago, Rick and Chris Taylor were also claiming that I had personally trained Ryman's Nutmeg Sprint ("Meg") which is also an absolute falsehood. All of these actions were falsehoods created by Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West for the purpose of an enhanced public image for the sake of personal greed.
.
They removed all mention of Ryman's Nutmeg Sprint from that web page shortly after they were contacted by my attorney (click on thumbnail below to see the Setters West web page before it was conveniently revised by Rick and Chris Taylor ... of note here also is the birth date they have listed for Timbers Sagaceous Blue ("Sage") which was also revised shortly after they heard from my attorney ~ more to follow on this matter soon).
After several more phone calls made by me to Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West stating the same facts over and over ~ even though they were at the time still insisting they were planning on bringing Ryman's Nutmeg Sprint ("Meg") back to me and expected me to give them a refund for the dog! ~ I heard nothing further from the Taylors regarding this matter and found out later that despite their claims this particular dog would not hunt to their satisfaction, that they were in fact using her in their breeding program.
.
Through the kindness of a third party who has been duly appalled by Rick and Chris Taylor's forgeries and falsehoods regarding me and their fraudulent practices as regards their Setters West kennels, I acquired an actual copy of the Field Dog Stud Book (F.D.S.B.) registration for Ryman's Nutmeg Sprint ("Meg") which can be viewed by clicking on the thumbnail below:
.
.....
Further proof also provided to me is the actual publication of the registration information for Ryman's Nutmeg Sprint ("Meg") in the Field Dog Stud Book, which goes further to prove my statement that I was not the breeder and/or owner of this particular dog (click in the thumbnail below):
.......
.....
All irrefutable and verifiable FACTS ~ something Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West seem to be in very short supply of now as well as over the past years.
.
It should also be noted here that as of this date, we are still awaiting actual and verifiable proof from Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West of the court case they have maliciously claimed was filed against me by Maurice Ryman.
.
With all the other forged and falsified documents they have produced to date, it would be a relatively easy endeavor to obtain a copy of a court case and action ~ which are all public records, on file and readily available to the public ~ IF the case did indeed or had ever indeed ever existed.
.
There never was a court case of this nature or even remotely related to any matter such as this ~ which goes further to show the truly deceitful and fraudulent natures of Rick and Chris Taylor of Setters West. .
If indeed an allegation of a wholly-manufactured court case such as the Taylors falsely and maliciously claim was published in a widely-available sporting publication such as appears on their slander-ridden web site, then the publication has also been involved in malicious and fraudulent behavior and will also suffer severe consequences as prescribed by law.
